Installation on Fedora

Fedora Logo Fedora is a primary development platform for OpenGroupware.org. The project provides packages for Fedora Core 2 as well as for Fedora Core 3.
We target for inclusion in the Fedora project after the OGo 1.0 release.

Quick Links: apt4rpm, yum, FC Core 3, FC Core 2, FC Core 1.

Note: Due to preparations for SOPE 4.4 / OGo 1.0 the packages can be outdated and install instructions might be incorrect. Installation instructions will be updated if OGo 1.0 packages are available and released. Thanks for your patience.

Automatic install using apt4rpm

You can perform automatic installation using the apt4rpm tool. Just add one of the following lines to your /etc/apt/sources.list, rerun apt-get update and use apt-get install to install the packages you want.

In case you are using Fedora-Core 2 just replace the fedora-core3 with fedora-core2 in the entries.

Releases Note: ensure that you specify the actual OGo version you want to fetch!

Automatic install using Yum

You can perform automatic installation using the yum tool. Simply add one of the following sections to your /etc/yum.conf, perform a yum update and call the yum install to install packages.

Fedora Core 3

Fedora Core 3 packages are known to run just fine, but we appreciate feedback in case you find issues with the packages.
For SOPE 4.4 and OGo 1.0a the Fedora Core 3 are build on that platform. The later OGo 1.0a versions perform all the database setup and configuration automagically (unless you already did that), so you don't need to perform any further setup.

Note: We appreciate feedback on what aspects the provided packages conflict with Fedora packaging policy! Of course patches to the spec file are welcome too :-)

Fedora Core 2

Fedora Core 2 packages are known to run just fine, but we appreciate feedback in case you find issues with the packages.
For SOPE 4.4 and OGo 1.0a the Fedora Core 2 are build on that platform. You might want to use Kelley's RPM install script to install or upgrade an existing installation.

Fedora Core 1

Fedora Core 1 is outdated now, but if you got it running, we appreciate feedback, or even better, install instructions for that platform.
In general the regular RPM packages should work out of the box. RPM installation procedures apply and you might want to use Kelley's RPM install script.

We welcome your feedback!
